Half a thousand voices on the stage

Last week on Thursday (25th September) was the Combined Schools Choir Concert at Celebration Centre in Harare. It was an amazing display of vocal talent and musical promise. The concert featured about five hundred young people from Arundel, Chisipite, Churchill, Dominican Convent, Gateway High, Harare International School, Heritage, Peterhouse, Peterhouse Girls, Prince Edward, St George’s, St Johns and Speciss.
The sound of five hundred voices, singing one song, is totally amazing.

^ Over four thousand parents and friends filled up the main auditorium at the Celebration Centre.

^ The Marimbas received mad applause from the audience.

^ The pipe (bagpipes) band was really popular too.
The evening kicked off with the Combined Schools Orchestra performing the National Anthem. They then went into a lively rendition of “Lord of the Dance” and were joined by the Marimba band for “Song of Afrika”.
The String Orchestra was up next, followed by the Wind band. There were also performances from the Combined Schools Pipe and Jazz bands, and finally the choir took the stage.
The venue and sound equipment for the concert were donated by Pastors Tom and Bonnie Deuschle of Celebration Ministries. All proceeds from the event will go to charity.
