Hello friends!!

Today let us talk about KUDZI MARUDZA

Kudzi most of the time likes playing old school music. Some people might say his choice of music is out dated but if one has a passion for music like myself, you get to realise that music like wine matures with age.

Take for example artists like James Chimombe, Oliver Mutukudzi’s first albums, The Bundu Boys, Leonard Dembo, Solomon Skuza just to mention a few. Some of these artists by then did not impress me probably because of my age but now I enjoy the music. Have you ever wondered why young artists are remixing this old school music? It’s because they want to add a little flavour of the latest instruments but they leave the lyrics as they were.

Kudzi understands that type of music and appreciates it because the songs were produced during his time so probably they remind him of his youth. Kudzi is capable of putting life into that “rejected” category of music.

Our DJ for today also knows how to project his voice. The projection is not constant, sometimes he uses a high pitch then switches to a low pitch. His voice is never boring because of his variations. I think this all points to the fact that Kudzi is so composed and knows what he is doing. Experience is also playing a great job.

Kudzi is more into turning the tables. Almost every weekend he will be hosting or be a guest dj at a party or disco which ever way you understand. They call these parties the ‘Old school party’

Keep it up Kudzi!!
