Opportunities abound on the Internet!
Filed under: How Zimbabwe can be better, I was just thinking, Technology
In March this year I started a journey that would lead me to this page, making this post. But then again maybe I started that journey in a little room in Mount Pleasant in 1998.
That journey has taken me through thousands of websites and seen me witness technological wonders unfold before my very eyes.
My realisation, over and over again, is that the Internet is a place of great opportunities. Opportunities to meet new people. Opportunities to make new friends. Opportunities to make a living. Opportunities to create wealth. Opportunities to learn, to teach, to share knowledge, to collaborate, to dream, to make dreams come true.
Aripano Infinity, and Zimbablog (thank you all so much for supporting Zimbablog!), were born on the back of one of the biggest heart breaks of my life. But thanks to that heart break I was pushed to search harder than before for the trail of opportunity that lies hidden in the clutter of the web.
I am finding parts of it- in exciting chunks that I would like to share with anyone who feels that they too are born to build a livelihood through the Internet or who simply wants to understand better the Way of the Web. These are tools and tricks that are used by the most successful websites around the world.
I would like to share them with you because I have been given them for free by the men and women who have gone before me. I would like to share them with you because they have changed my life and I believe they can change yours- and change Zimbabwe for the better.
Let’s share. Let’s run the opportunity marathon together >>

My advice bru is that as an entrepreneur you learn more from failure than from success. There are infinite opportunities on the http://WWW. In June this year China surpassed the US as the country with the largest Internet user. Friendster was Facebook before Facebook. Now there are all sorts of SN websites.
It’s not a journey in vain because few man are driven by destiny. Men of vision have always been mocked by their generation. We haven’t even begun to scratch the surface about what can be done.
The WWW is revolutionizing everything but unmistakeably some think that change is negligible in the 3rd world. The smartest company’s now know that the future is in the bottom of the pyramid.
Keep at it. It will be obvious to lesser minds once you fulfill your destiny.
As a dreamer, an artist, I know, too, that you learn more from failure than success. Ever read, Paulo Coehlo, The Alchemist? He says we all have Personal Legends to fulfil, and many people have talked about this in various ways, using various names for the same concepts, and he says some that the trick in life is to fall down five times and get up seven times, or is it fall down seven times and get up nine times? But you get the gist?
As a dreamer, I know, too, that, dreams not put through the blast furnace of reality are dreamed in vain, and that the shiny stone shines because it has been perfected by the fiery process…
And so I salute you. From these wells of yours, may shall come and drink and shall be nourished. Many will bring more fecund waters and you too, along with many more shall be nourished. Many will grow and flourish.
Indeed, keep at it and when the stars of your destiny shine, lesser minds shall enjoy the illumination, even if they sought to snuff you out in your journey
A dream made of clay only crumbles in the day of heat but a dream made of clay that goes through the furnace endures the test of time. No dream worth its salt goes untested
The words of encouragement are much appreciated! Yes, Stan I’ve read The Alchemist and I get the gist! I must keep on running. We ALL must. On whatever arduous road we find ourselves- run we must.
