Jazz Invitation Tonight
The Mannenberg deeply regrets the error in The Herald advert of today: Junior Bantan will NOT be performing tonight. Correct information is:
TUE 17 FEB – FROM 9PM
JAZZ INVITATION & FRIENDS – special Jazz Bash invitation to celebrate the 21st Birthday of one of Zimbabwe’s gifted and rising young jazzists – VEE MUKARAKATI (SAX). A celebration of jazz, youth, and
the future! Also featuring other guest artists and friends. Welcome!
Jazz Invitation has been delivering a high standard of jazz in Zimbabwe and the region for more than 5 years now, and the band lineup currently includes founder member Kelly Rusike (bass), Bernie Bismark (keyboards) and Brian Mambo (drums). Last week JAZZ INVITATION presented a Tribute to Miriam Makeba which featured long-time musical partner Prudence Katomene-Mbofana, and Adiona – a fitting tribute to the late diva, and a sterling display of afro jazz that has been the groups signature from the beginning – along with a diverse repertoire of international jazz standards, and their own original music.
As it is with Jazz, every performance of Jazz invitation is different, fresh, exciting, and this is a rare and special mid-week performance not to be missed!
Tonight’s show starts at 9pm
