Thank God It’s Friday
These days, Fridays are not as ‘kicking’ as they used to be. However, Zimbos are ‘fun-loving’ people. Regardless of the escalating cost of the ‘wise waters’, and soft drinks, Zimbos just buy.
Go to any joint in Harare, check the number of people present…and buying. Talk of Mereki, Globe Trotter, Mtangaz, and the many clubs, bars, bottle stores and beerhalls. Zimbos love their ‘peace of mind’.
BAFA 2008 gets Harare dancing

Hararians put down their burdens last week for the Buddyz Annual Festival of the Arts held in the Harare Gardens. On the last two nights, Saturday and Sunday evening, the atmosphere was electric as Rute Mbangwa, Dudu Manhemda, Mambokadzi, Reverb, Jiggaz, Winfree and Edith katiji entertained the excited crowds.
Channel O visits Zimbabwe

Channel O VJ Rachel Stuart at last week’s Channel O Party at the Harare Gardens. The talented Zimbabwean born and raised socialite is also a renowned model. Present at the party was another Zimbabwean Buffalo Soldier, who won an award at the recent Channel O awards. Rachel was host of the party, back to back with DJ Tuneman, also of Channel O.
Demons of a Friday morning
They are chatting away in my head. “Let’s do Stars tinight,” says one.
“No! Make that Sports Diner!” says another.
“But hapana mari ka apa maface,” cautions a third.
“We don’t need money. Tinowona yekutamba.”
So I let them fight, knowing that whatever happens I’m going to have a good time tonight. Hoza Friday!
Hats off to THE PSYKOZ and co.

I braced the chilly Friday night of September 12 to attend the Zimbabwe International Film Festival (ZIFF) Short Film Project Opening night in Harare. I was so curious to know what was going to be screened or rather what our own local writers, directors and actors had in store for us. What I watched was not bad at all. For me, only two movies were in a class of their own- brilliant. These are Zimbabwe The Best Country and Akakodzera Ndiani?
The Short Film Project (SFP) included a total of five films.
The movie which got most people off their seats, bursting into laughter was written by THE PSYKOZ Of Prince Edward High School and directed by Patience Gamu Tawengwa. Read more
