Zimbabwe’s fate in the race for a place at the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations in Angola and the World Cup in South Africa is now out of their hands after they were held to a 0-0 home draw by Guinea on Sunday.

The draw, Zimbabwe’s third in five Group 2 matches, leaves them third on the table and four points adrift of leaders Kenya with just one more match to play against Namibia.

Kenya beat Namibia 1-0 in Nairobi on Sunday.

Winners of the 12 African groups qualify for the next stage of qualification and will be joined by the eight best runners-up. Read more

Yay! Cara has finally won a major tournament. It’s been a long long uphill journey for the Zimbabwean tennis star but it was well worth the fight!

ZIMBABWE’S Cara Black and India’s Leander Paes won the mixed doubles title at the U.S. Open on Thursday, beating Briton Jamie Murray and American Liezel Huber 7-6 6-4.

The fifth seeds saved two set points in the first-set tiebreak before breaking once in the second to clinch victory in what was their first grand slam event together. Read more

Now that the Russians, Asians and Arabs have made their mark buying English Premiership clubs, I was just thinking that I should buy Dembare before they come here and start taking up our clubs.

All I need is to talk to Uncle Gideon so that he can lend me some money (If he can’t help I can talk to one of my other rich uncles (Uncle Nigel, Uncle Phil and Uncle Strive immediately come to mind). Read more
