Of Mercs, Perks & Promises
Some say politics is a dirty game. But, is it so? Some say it is ’survival of the fittest’. I am currently observing what has been transpiring with the Zimbabwean inclusive government. My worry is from the day the ministers and MPs were involved with the new government, there was a ‘rush’ to organise mercs and perks- though there are reports that there are difficulties in addressing this issue. As we all know, ministers and other top government officially live ‘large’. Today, I visited the Herald website and read a headline-RBZ pledges cars for MPs. Well, I am not saying that MPs don’t deserve to have cars, but for now is it a matter of urgency? And to make matters worst, I don’t think these are ordinary cars, but of course top of the range (though the articles hints they are second hand). What boggles my mind is that….what about the ordinary man?
